I just got the de steno games app but am not sure how to start any of the games. When you click on one nothing happens. If anyone has this app I'm curious to know how it works.
Thanks.
the only way I've managed to get around this is to use a Bluetooth keyboard. You need to type your commands; they don't just appear in a menu like most games, and since the on screen keyboard doesn't appear, I'm guessing you need a bluetooth one. that's the only way I managed to get it to work, anyway.
Are you using it on an Iphone? I've noticed a slight lag in the time between selecting an option and in the speech when the game does whatever I've told it to do.
Usually the first question the games ask is if you want instructions. It should voice that though. If not, hit Y on the onscreen keyboard. I've noticed the speech locks up on my phone more than usual when I'm playing this app so be aware that you may have to restart your phone if you're using an Iphone.
Hmm. Odd. I couldn't get the on screen keyboard to appear in that app.
Really? That's odd. You're talking about once you've chosen a game, right?
If so, perhaps deleting and reinstalling it might be an option? I'm not really a techy though so hopefully someone else will have an answer that might actually be helpful.
sometimes in this app, the on screen keyboard may not appear visible to voice over. When this happens, dubble tap on any of your status bar items. This usually fixes it for me
Yes. You will need to scroll to top, which is done by tapping the status bar (for sighted users) or double tapping the icons for us.
One thing to bear in mind with most iPhone and Android games, they're all really quite clever in their processor usage. But memory is limited, and so are resources.
So I always close all apps from the task switcher - that's force quit on Androids, and then you'll have the best experience with whatever game you're playing. I'll have to look at these though, suonds interesting.
